A yoga therapist is a trained professional (1000 hours+) who integrates yoga with therapeutic practices for physical, mental, and emotional health. It’s like having your own private yoga session. A general yoga class focuses on practice and poses, but yoga therapists customize sessions for your individual needs. Session can include aspects of tailored poses, breathing techniques, meditation, mindfulness practices–all designed to promote healing and well-being.
So, why see a yoga therapist? Chronic pain management, stress reduction, emotional support, rehabilitation, holistic health approaches and personalize care. These are just some of the benefits. Ultimately, seeing a yoga therapist can be a transformative step towards improved health and well-being as you learn new tools to enhance the quality of life both on and off the mat.
And drum roll…..I am now accepting clients for one-on-one yoga therapy! Still in my practicum phase, just so you know, but eager to help and put my almost 1000+ hours to work. If you have a physical ailment, want to reduce stress or improve mental health, or maybe you just want to sleep better, send me a message. Yoga therapy sessions can be done in my studio in Brentwood Bay, in your home, or online. As well, I am a big proponent of walking/outdoor meditation and happy to meet outside too!
With gratitude,
Michelle
